THIS IS WHAT IT TAKES TO GET OUR SIDEWALKS REPAIRED…SOMEDAY…
Broken sidewalks are more than trip and fall hazards. They, along with missing curb ramps, are ADA violations. Civil rights action claims may cause Los Angeles to spend up to $1.5 billion for sidewalk repairs over the next two decades. One of the plaintiffs accuses, “It’s very easy to go for the big gold, to go for the stadium, rather than patch up sidewalks for people you don’t value.” While that’s a debatable claim, we can all hope and appreciate that someday maybe upheaved, cracked and craggy sidewalks will be a thing of the past no matter who or what issue accomplished that feat.
