Pertaining to the cartoon above:
Our life’s work is inspecting and advising how to correct the damages created by “shoddy work” and other related damages to buildings. Lack of training, apprenticeships, development of skills and knowledge leads increasingly to hazardous conditions, serious construction defects, endless litigation, costs and aggravation. We are happy to see that many school districts, especially in The Greater Conejo Valley (roughly Calabasas to Northern Ventura County), are revamping curriculums to once again provide hands on experience and education in many trades including construction. Not everyone is a scholar. Teaching the trades prepares students for real world jobs and in the best cases provides pathways to employment. Then we all win. Reduced job site injuries (we handle those too), improved quality of construction — added values come with higher standards. We applaud the schools and business communities committed to preparing and placing students in real jobs that will bring higher quality lives to many. We also encourage others to quit complaining and join this renaissance of can-do problem solving! www.xlservicesca.com
